In an effort to strengthen ties with the education fraternity, help bolster community spirit, and raise awareness of skin cancer prevention, UniJobs is happy to announce the sponsorship of Edith Cowan University’s staff melanoma prevention drive.
As Australia’s University job website, UniJobs recognises the importance the sun plays in the lives of everyone on campus. As such, information sessions such as this are important in maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle around the university.
Beginning on Wednesday 2nd December, the university will begin optional skin cancer checks for all members of staff, and will be holding free information sessions on the subjects of early cancer detection and sun safety.
The desire to sponsor the event was of paramount importance to UniJobs Director Jarrod Kanizay, who has been touched personally by the deaths of friends caused by melanoma\'s and other types of skin cancer.
"I spent many years working in the health sector as a nurse, and my experience has taught me that prevention drives such as this are incredily important" he said.
"Living in Australia the risk of skin cancer is far greater for most ordinary people; many people just can\'t fathom how serious sun saftey is, and how preventable skin cancer is with early detection".
All staff are encouraged to participate, and UniJobs wishes the university the best of luck with the information drive.
