We seek a creative, commercially-oriented professional to take a leadership role in leveraging intellectual capital resources from the UQ Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR) to increase commercial funding opportunities. ISSR is one of Australia’s largest social science research institutes and is based at UQ. ISSR conducts research on national and regional priority issues and offers commercial services and training for public and private sector organisations.
Working closely with industry contacts, UniQuest and UQ staff, you will:
· identify opportunities for research collaboration with the private and public sectors both nationally and internationally;
· identify projects which have the potential to generate consulting and research funding;
· raise the awareness and skills of staff to identify, protect and manage the ISSR’s intellectual capital.
You must have a relevant degree as well as significant business development experience, excellent communication skills, exposure to intellectual property management and preferably an understanding of the higher education environment. Most importantly, you will have an entrepreneurial flair and the ability to make things happen.
