The National Centre for Maritime Engineering and Hydrodynamics offers a suite of specialist degrees in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine and Offshore Systems and M Phil and PhD degrees by research. The National Centre also operates an extensive suite of research facilities including a towing tank, model test basin, cavitation tunnel, circulating water channel, diesel spray chamber and computing cluster.
This is a senior position within the National Centre and the appointee will be required to undertake the duties of a Professor or Associate Professor within the National Centre. The position will undertake independent teaching and research in his/her discipline or related area, will make an independent contribution to research and/or scholarship through professional practice and expertise, and co-ordinate and/or lead the activities of other staff, as appropriate to the discipline(s). Initial financial assistance will be provided to assist in establishing research activities.
This is a full-time tenurable appointment with the successful appointee being required to take up duties as soon as available. The appointment will be at Academic Level D or E and an attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant. Relocation assistance will be provided in accordance with the UTAS Relocation Policy and Procedures.
