The weather bureau says Southern Queensland will continue to experience unusually warm winter weather over the next few days.
The bureau says a high pressure system is bringing moisture and heat in from the Coral Sea.
About 20 to 30 millimetres of rain has fallen around the south-east coast in the past 24 hours.
Forecaster Peter Otto says the fog in Brisbane this morning could affect flights.
"At the moment we're forecasting that but at the moment it's still holding of as a mist and hopefully they can still operate for a while," he said.
In western Queensland, he says the balmy winter conditions will continue for another few days but a cool change is due over the weekend.
Mr Otto says some inland centres have recorded temperatures almost 10 degrees Celsius above the July average in recent days and today they are expecting temperatures in the 30s.
He says a high pressure system in the Tasman sea is behind the warm and humid weather and some rain is forecast in the coming days.
"Mostly in the central parts and the southern districts there will be areas of rain," he said.
"Warm conditions should continue for the next few days before a southerly change moves up over the weekend and will cool things from the south-west on Saturday.
"That will spread up on Sunday and will cool things down for most of the state on Sunday."
